Reverend Carlton Gibson

REVEREND CARLTON GIBSON was born and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey. He attended High School in Waco, Texas. Reverend Gibson graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Resource Development from Medaille College, Buffalo, NY. After college Reverend Gibson was employed in the medical field as a Nurse Assistant. He later earned his Master of Divinity Degree from Virginia University College Seminary.
Reverend Gibson answered the calling to preach early in life; He preached his trial sermon in Flushing, New York. In 1987 Reverend Gibson was ordained an Itinerant Elder of the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church by Bishop Frank C. Cummings. Reverend Gibson was appointed Pastor of Calvary Fellowship AME Church during the First District AME Planning Meeting on June 13, 2015. Reverend Gibson is actively involved in his Church Ministry. He consistently attends Church School and he is committed to Bible Study and Prayer Meetings. He teaches the Word and preaches his sermons with zeal, passion and enthusiasm. He is also an excellent administrator. Prior to his appointment at Calvary Fellowship AME Church Reverend Gibson was the Pastor of Mt Teman AME Church, Elizabeth, New Jersey from 2013-2015. From 2009 to 2013 Reverend Gibson served as Presiding Elder of the Western N.Y. Conference. Other Pastoral positions were at Bethel AME, Westbury, NY: Mt. Carmel AME, New Rochelle, NY; Bethel AME Bayshore, NY: and Bethel AME, Babylon, NY. Under his leadership these churches prospered spiritually, numerically and financially.
Reverend Gibson has distinguished himself throughout the Methodist church as an Administrative Assistant in Bethel Buffalo 1984-1987, as Statistical Secretary to the NY Annual Conference and Delegate to the General Conferences in 2000, 2004, 2008, and 2012. Reverend Gibson is recognized as a mentor and community activist. His involvement in community affairs include NAACP Advisor; Westbury NY: the Minority Parent Organization, Bayshore, NY: and The Balm in Gilead AIDS/HIV Awareness Campaign. He is listed in Who’s Who in the American Business Directory.
Reverend Gibson is the father of three children; daughters Tijuana Monique, Ndaja M. Brooks, son Juwan Carlton Gibson and grandson Anthony Graves. Reverend Gibson is a gifted singer, teacher and awesome preacher. He is truly a man of God whom he expresses through his innate understanding, love and compassion for the people.
